Some eminent inhabitants of New Alipore area felt the need of a good Secondary School for boys and moved the Government of West Bengal. Agreeing with the proposal the Department of Education sponsored an institution. The land was donated by L.I.C. and P.W.D constructed the School building.

The Managing Committee was formed with Justice S.K.Sen, ICS (Retd.) as the President, Mr. Nogesh Chakraborty, Chief Presidency Magistrate (Retd.) as Vice-President,  Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, DI,Calcutta (Retd.) as Headmaster-Secretary and Dr. Sunil Ray as the Representative of the State Government.

A Primary Section was also attached with Mrs. Gouri Gupta as the Head Mistress-in-charge. The New Alipore Multipurpose School was founded on 9^th January 1964 and named New Alipore Multipurpose School.
